Formed in the summer of 2001 by Steven Balogh (ex- of art-rockers Capozzi Park) and featuring members of other respected Vancouver ensembles, Baron Samedi E.S.Q. have set out to fill a void in the musical landscape of Vancouver and beyond.
Their self-styled "Ecstatic Soul" is an amalgam of their collective influence, a joyful noise aimed at your heart and your hips. The beat is undeniable, the melodies sophisticated and the presentation so bombastic and full of life there can be no question that they are the real deal: a garage-soul juggernaut.
