Music. Songwriting. Shifting Paradigms.

I'm thirty but feel fairly pleased with the results. I live in vancouver. In the lower eastside. On the low track. I am the lead singer and songwriter for The Next T-Shirt. I believe in the power of music. I believe the world does not belong to man. I believe man belongs to the world. I seek peace, love and understanding. I love the beauty, kindness and instincts of women. I love the laughs, curiosity and trust of children. I feel hope. I feel fear. I have dreams about the future. I have nightmares about the past. I'm trying to let go. I'm trying to learn.

I would like to meet You...

Writing and singing songs is my greatest pleasure [Please feel free to download our albums @ www.thenexttshirt.com]. Reading brings both comfort and inspiration. Movies have always fascinated and helped me to paint the world of my dreams in my waking mind. I love architecture and interior design. I find great comfort in walls and spaces with creative purpose and living intent. I seek to understand and appreciate wisdom of all ages, past and present, for the future requires great consideration.

I Love music.Yes. Almost any and almost all. Favourites? Of course! The Hip; PJ; Jeff Buckley; U2; STP; The Beatles; Pink Floyd; Hard-Fi; City & Colour; Feist; Metric; The Yeah-Yeah Yeahs ;Arcade Fire; Public Enemy; My Morning Jacket; Biggie and Tupac; Ray LaMontagne; Radiohead; Van Morrison; Seal; Marvin Gaye; Stevie Wonder; Tracy Chapman; Tenacious D; Live; Catherine Wheel; Coldplay; R&B, soul and gospel...
(Edit)

I see as many movies in the theatre as i can. I also buy a lot of DVD's. I like to watch and rewatch many films. Angles, framing, motion. The process appeals to my senses. To both the visual and the visceral.

Football. Baseball. Basketball. Aside from sports, television has become a great drain on my soul. I have an immense distaste for commercials and the ubiquitous strangehold that advertising places on the mental environment. Some of the programming i absolutely adore however, so i have begun purchasing seasons of those shows i have always wanted to enjoy. Deadwood. Six Feet Under. Chappelle Show. Curb Your Enthusiasm. Carnivale. Wow. I guess i've become quite a sponsor of HBO. Oh well, i can live with that.

What? People who inspire me? Oh, someone who has taken it to the next level. I see. My mom. Definitely. The centre of my universe and the standard by which i measure love and kindness. Dr.King. Wasn't there. Heard about it. Seen it on TV. Read about it. Still can't believe it. He was something else. I get tears in my eyes just thinking about that speech. You know the one. Jesus. Without splitting hairs about whose god did what to whom and promised whomever that they shall be the only ones blah, blah blah - Jesus was a good man. He stood for what he believed in. In my mind that was love and respect. Two characteristics that seem to be disproportionately misrepresented in these modern times. Daniel Quinn. The man is a provocative thinker and his books have been a stablizing force in my life and a constant source of inspiration. He helped me to hear the wisdom of the elders that dates back much further than any of my textbooks ever considered. He took me as a stranger under his wing and taught me to consider how the vision of our culture was manipulating me and what effect that impact was having on the natural sytems to which all living things are inextricably bound.

Lots. Reading changed with me after Ishmael and The Story of B. I've been on a different quest ever since. Many great tales and infinite lengths of wisdom bound between the pages of so many books. First and Foremost: Daniel Quinn. Tom Robbins. David Suzuki. Martin Amis. Rushdie. Atwood. Rand. Dan Brown. The great thing is that they keep on coming...
