"The Constantines maintain a feverishly partisan dedication to the wild delirium of rock n ’ roll…air punchingly anthemic" - NME
Toronto’s Constantines are back and more ready than ever to bring their power-packed tracks to their fans in Vancouver.
Having spent a good part of last year on tour honing songs from their latest album Tournament Of Hearts, the Constantines’ record met with rave reviews from music critics and were hand picked by Dave Grohl and the Foo Fighters to open up the show for them on their Western Canadian Tour this past summer.
Tournament of Hearts is the Constantines third full-length album. It follows two critically acclaimed albums released through Three Gut Records in their native Canada and Sub Pop for the rest of the world. “Classic without being too traditional or contrived, Tournament of Hearts is the sound of the Constantines operating at the peak of their powers,” states Billboard Magazine. The Constantines are set to make their return to Vancouver for this special headlining show.
Vancouver locals, Blood Meridian, recently signed on the dotted line with V2 records (White Stripes) and are teaming up with the Constantines for a Canadian tour. Their sound can be described as mellow & morose, sometimes folky or even country but always heavy on the rhythms, trying desperately to recall those sweet grooves of the 60’s Motown stuff. Take it or leave it, love it or hate it. Blood Meridian don’t really care they’ll do it anyway.
