One of Canada’s most gifted young musicians, Quinn Bachand is an acoustic guitarist/vocalist who, at the tender age of 21, has already recorded five CDs, won a number of awards and nominations, and earned an enviable international reputation as a virtuoso blessed with boundless creativity. Originally focused on traditional music, mostly Celtic, Bachand has expanded his interests to include everything from western swing and folk-rock to the Euro-jazz of Django Reinhardt. Although he records and performs in a number of settings, Bachand is particularly famous for his Brishen band, which plays fresh and sparkling variations on gypsy jazz. The second Brishen CD, Blue Verdun, has just been released and offers an irresistibly modern twist on a time-honoured genre.
