The history of The White Rock Traditional Jazz Society dates back to its establishment in 1990 to encourage and promote the performance of New Orleans and Traditional styles of jazz in the White Rock/South Surrey area of British Columbia, Canada.
Red Beans & Rice usually plays on the first Sunday of the month and you can hear other regular guest bands on the remaining Sundays. We usually close our Sunday sessions with a New Orleans-style umbrella parade. We also have occasionally a boogie woogie piano spot at intermission.
We sponsor young music students that are interested in learning OKM, to attend the Heebie Jeebie Music Camp for one week, in the Summer.
