HEROSTRATIS
since circa 2005
Original rock with conceptual integrity. Gigs and album Fall 2005.
Herostratus achieved, claimed credit, and was executed for the burning of the great temple of the goddess Artemis on July 21, 356 BC. He destroyed the temple for the sake of securing his immortal place in history. The sacred temple was considered one of the Seven Wonders of the World.
The authorities, in addition to executing Herostratus, sought to condemn him to a legacy of obscurity by forbidding mention of his name under penalty of death.
Like Herostratus, the exploration of the realities of the human condition compels the artist to find a way to rise above it.
