About

Bill Pechet

Bill Pechet is the director of an interdisciplinary studio in Vancouver, with a background in geography, fine art and architecture. Since 1991, his studio has produced a portfolio of projects that include cemeteries, memorials, public art, commercial interiors, exhibitions, private residences, set designs and furniture. In 2006 Bill and Stephanie Robb created a mammoth work that represented Canada at the Venice Biennale, called Sweaterlodge. Another significant work by the studio in the Victoria area is an infants' cemetery and memorial called 'The Little Spirits Garden', at Royal Oak Burial Park, in Saanich. This project was co-designed with Joseph Daly, Landscape Architect.
Bill teaches in the School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture, at UBC and was the 2018 recipient of the BC Achievement Association's Carter Wosk Award of Distinction, the highest honour offered in BC to those who have made significant contributions to applied arts.
