It was the best show I have ever seen. No warmup, he was first on, last off / didn't stop. Designed it all to make sure every person who bought a ticket got their money's woth, not bad sound and a view of his back. Sent out props to Sly Stone and the Cars with covers (GREAT covers and I'm a synth guy). Showcased players from James Brown's band (don't get me started on how Jb treated his band). Started a song and handed the vocal off to someone way across stage who just peeled over to make their cue on the mike, and laughed on the close up camera when they nailed it. Cassandra O'Neil refused to play any "safe" chord progressions and had these gaunlets with tricks in the electronics I recognized. The trio of little birds rocked the house better than any gospel band I've seen (seen some good ones).

In the encore he remixed a la ableton and sang to it live. Guitars, oh yeah. Dance and Freeze. Had to be there. Sound and light, i dunno, hard to tell with all them people standing screaming and dancing. My haerings back. It was simply everything a concert should be. So glad my daughter, into opera, got to see someone like that at the top of their game. That's what a concert could be. Days later, its still a WOW! The most i ever paid for a concert. The best i ever saw. I'm 56, I've seen a few. No regrets. I saw Prince, and he nailed it with the tightest band in the world. Out. - Mon, 19 Dec 2011 11:56pm Edited: Tue, 20 Dec 2011 12:11am

Nice review, I should have made an effort to go. Prince is a genius whether you like his music or not. Some of his songs turn me off a little but even then I still find them interesting to listen to. - Tue, 3 Jan 2012 11:47am
