Having the honey and the money means to have it all; the best of both worlds. Leila Harrison and Matt Clarke make up the pop duo Honey and the Money, and they're celebrating the release of their debut CD, this evening joined by very special guests, Greg Neufeld, Stride Elementary & Winnepeg touring band, Keith and Renee. Be sure to join these fine songsmithes as they engage, enchant and show some serious heart and soul.
GREG NEUFELD - Charismatic singer/songwriter GREG NEUFELD, a 2007 Canadian Idol Top Ten finalist hailing from Abbotsford, BC was recently quoted as saying, "If you put enough time and energy into something then you can accomplish a lot of your goals." Proving that adage true, Greg's 7th place placing in the Canadian Idol competetion is a great stepping stone in his musical aspirations. Far before he'd set a foot on the Canadian Idol stage, Greg's love of performing music had the talented musician singing & playing guitar in popular rising band, Dimarco an acoustic driven alt-rock Abbotsford- based band that's already shared stages with Matthew Good, Hedley, the Trews, Default, and Theory of a Deadman.
HONEY & THE MONEY's (formerly MADISEN) live shows have been described as nothing short of goose bump inducing. Heartbreaking harmonies woven together by the duo, combine with great hooks and melodies, making music that is beautiful, delicate and dynamic. Leila’s powerful and emotional voice & Matt’s driving guitar playing are showcased on the new disc which is filled with lush arrangements, strings and horn sections full of hooks and stories. Blending lovely harmonies with driving acoustic guitar, Leila's powerful, compelling voice combines perfectly with Matt's stirring vocals and guitar work. Their shows are consistently dynamic, honest and captivating - pop music at its best. It is the Honey and the Money.
STRIDE ELEMENTARY began life as a way for Glenn Gillis and Greg Williams to compose music and record songs at each other's homes. After being recruited by Vancouver's Solarists, Greg went on to join Hinterland while Glenn continued songwriting. Adding Michael Nathanson (Windows '78) and Kevin Titcomb, their unique sounds are not to be missed!
KEITH and RENEE - After ten years together, two albums under their belt, multiple awards and nominations and a name change (aka: Easily Amused), Winnipeg Duo, Keith and Renee released their 3rd CD titled, REVOLUTION this October and will be hitting Vancouver's Media Club stage this evening! Keith and Renee have performed all across North America in cities including New York, LA, Toronto and Chicago and have shared stages with the likes of Sean Lennon, Tegan and Sara & Burton Cummings. In July 2006, Keith performed as a member of the top 22 on Canadian Idol and most recently, Renee introduced her own clothing line, Renee Leone across North America and was featured in New York City's, Time Out Magazine.
