Dance all night to blues, soul and rock and roll, featuring Eighth Avenue Six, Cass King & The Next Right Thing, and Astro Zero. Arrive at 8 for a Blues Dance lesson with Loretta Laurin and David Yates!
Eighth Avenue Six is an indie project proudly based in East Vancouver and dedicated to bringing a modern, driving feel to old school Rhythm and Blues. Drawing inspiration from the earliest blues, original Atlantic R&B, and early punk, Eighth Avenue Six shows take audiences on a trip that is both new and familiar at the same time.

Inspired by The Detroit Cobras, King Khan, Amy Winehouse, Janis Joplin, Joe Jackson, and The Ramones, Cass King & The Next Right Thing write soulful, danceable rock and roll. The brainchild of guitarist John Woods and vocalist Cass King (also known as comedy duo the Wet Spots) NRT's songs are sexy, cheeky, and guaranteed to make you want to shake your butt. Bassist Brendan Mooney and drummer Adrian Buckley drive the energy forward, rounding out the foursome with tight Motown harmonies. Their name was inspired by the saying "Do the next right thing." One foot in front of the other, you can't keep a good band down!
Astro Zero is a new soul project to hit the Vancouver scene, bringing elements of soul, R&B, and funk. Adriana Parejas, lead vocalist, brings a big sound, soulful lyrics, and presence that will leave you wanting more. Astro draws inspiration from their favorite artists such as Thundercat, Alicia Keys, and Amy Winehouse. They look forward to making you want to move and feel a little something in your soul!
