$8 at the door only.
Saskatoon singer-songwriter John Antoniuk (Smokekiller)’s music draws a diverse range of comparisons from Teenage Fanclub and Wilco, to Ryan Adams and Neil Young. In 2003 John released the Side A ep under the moniker Smokekiller, which quickly garnered him attention as a songwriter and saw him sharing the stage with Ron Sexsmith and Hayden. "13", his first full-length release, was mixed by Steven Drake and saw John selected as a National Finalist in the 2009 RadioStar Songwriting Competition. In 2011, John was awarded a 10k20 project grant from Rawlco Radio, which allowed him to go into the studio with producer Leeroy Stagger. Together they created "Always With You", an album of new material dedicated to John's mother, Marlene, who passed in October 2010. Featuring performances by Leeroy Stagger and his Band, Kevin Kane (Grapes of Wrath), and John Ellis (Wailin' Jennys, Ridley Bent), the album was released on September 4th, 2012, followed by a full Canadian Tour. This May, John will be back on the road promoting the new music video for “Holding On”. John is taking local duo "Castle River" out as both opening band and guitar/drums for the Smokekiller band.
"..recalling the soulful bounce reminiscent of the last Bahamas record with a more solid grounding in roots music"

Sound like Simon and Garfunkel getting beaten up by DFA 1979!
Castle River is a Saskatoon Duo that has been electrifying crowds with their syncopated rhythms, brotherly-like harmonies, and monstrous full sound. Featuring Matt Castle on guitar and vocals, and Billy Rivers on drums and vocals.
"Castle River is definitely forging a sound all their own." CBC Music
