Five Nimbus School of Recording related artists (Sonic Outcast, Shadows, The Oceanographers, Chloe Anne Lloyd, The Farewell Folks) to play The Media Club on Sunday September 30th, 2012

Vancouver, BC, August 30th, 2012. Nimbus School of Recording Arts are proud of their students and their accomplishments. In celebration of a large group of outgoing grads of the Advanced Music Production program, as well as to welcome a new intake of students beginning school the very next day; Nimbus is throwing a Sunday night party featuring five up and coming Vancouver based acts with Nimbus connections that are ready for the stage. While it is a semi-official school function, the Nimbus Fall Social is open to the public. Please come meet the students and staff and enjoy five fresh acts that highlight the diversity of the talent that comes through the school. This first Nimbus Social will be held on Sunday, September 30th at The Media Club (695 Cambie St) in Vancouver.

There were over 25 available Nimbus artist candidates to play the Fall Social, so in the interest of fairness these five acts were chosen by random draw.
Starting the night off at 8:00 PM sharp, THE FAREWELL FOLKS are spacey and slow, dynamic, introspective, and lyrical.
CHLOE ANNE LLOYD brings a fresh sound to the Vancouver scene; From within a tiny package Chloe Anne Lloyd delivers artfully crafted pop/rock songs with a hint of blues and folk from a mighty powerful voice. She is up next at 8:50.
THE OCEANOGRAPHERS play big anthemic indie rock and count Kings of Leon, The Strokes, & Arcade Fire as influences. Catch them at 9:40.
Next up at 10:30 is SHADOWS, an alternative indie rock band who originated in Surrey and recently won the 2nd place prize in Youthink magazine’s “BC's Best Teen Band” competition.
Closing the show at 11:20 will be SONIC OUTCAST, a hard rock band known for their high energy shows, powerful riffs and unique sound.

Doors will open to the public at 8:00pm. Tickets are $10 at the door.
