Opera Mariposa is a dynamic Vancouver-based company dedicated to bringing audiences fresh faces, beautiful music and compelling drama. Run by young artists, for young artists, we are committed to creating a stage for emerging talent, presenting North America's most promising performers in a diverse program of gala concerts, original shows and fully staged opera productions.

Opera Mariposa debuted in 2012 to widespread critical acclaim, and our performances have been hailed as "a stroke of genius" (The Voice), "an extraordinary feat" (North Shore News), "an evening of delight" and "a masterpiece" (Review Vancouver). Our innovative programming presents classic works alongside rarely-staged gems, allowing us to offer dedicated young professionals a unique range of artistic opportunities. All the while, we remain committed to showcasing the richness of Vancouver’s artistic talent, while creating high-calibre shows that engage opera aficionados and new audiences alike. In 2016 the company expanded with the launch of the Mariposa Theatre Wing, broadening their repertoire to include plays and musicals with operatic elements.
