Amos Lee is one lucky dude. Since embarking on a music career, the former Philadelphia schoolteacher has been fortunate enough to play with some of his heroes. He’s opened for Bob Dylan, Merle Haggard and John Prine. Norah Jones was so impressed that she asked him to open for her on her 2004 tour.

After spending the better part of the last three years on the road with his band, Amos has just released his second album, Supply and Demand. Another collection of his impeccable songs, which are best described as folk and soul with a blues twist, the disc follows up his well-received 2005 debut. From the sparse, powerful family elegy “Long Line of Pain” to the country-R’n’B-flavoured title track, the new record represents a huge leap in songwriting. A new favourite artist for those who hear him, Amos’s records and live shows prove he’s not only lucky, but talented too.
