On March 15, San Diego alt-rock band Switchfoot will set out on a coast to coast national tour in support of its latest CD Nothing is Sound, which was certified gold within a month of its release on September 13, 2005. Rolling Stone Magazine hailed the band’s “high-voltage buzz-saw riffs and irresistible melodic hooks” while Billboard commented that “Switchfoot has a gift for delivering hard-charging rock anthems with a lyrical depth and musical integrity that should sustain a long, successful career.”

As a follow up to their first single “Stars” which was a Top 40 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, “One Tonight,” the anthemic second single from the album is climbing its way up the charts. American Idol also chose the song as their promotional spot anthem to usher in their new season.

The headlining shows make up the second leg of Switchfoot’s Nothing is Sound North American tour. Last fall, to promote the album’s release, the band completed a sold-out 22-date national trek, which bassist Tim Foreman says was “easily one of our favourite tours ever.”
