6PM - 10PM doors at 6PM
Presented by: Main Street Record Fair , Vinyl Record Storage Company
Take an art show, pack it with vinyl records, throw in Vancouver’s hottest vinyl spinnin’ DJs and you get “Vinyl, Art and Leisure” – Vancouver’s first pop-up record shop and listening party.

The pop-up record store opens its doors for only one night every month in the Vancouver Art and Leisure gallery located at 1965 Main Street in Vancouver, BC.

The event melds the social aspects of an art show with the music-obsessed focus of a local record store. And just like any bar or record store, admission is free.

Robert Privett, organizer of the Main Street Vinyl Record Fair and Vancouver’s Vinyl Record Donation Program, hosts the event.

“Vinyl records are social – just a step behind live music,” says Privett. “Vinyl, Art and Leisure is meant to celebrate that.”

Attendees are encouraged to bring along records to swap with friends while they share a few drinks and enjoy that month’s featured DJ.

“Each month has different vendors, different DJs and different records for sale,” says Privett.

Records for sale at the event are available for a wide range of prices to accommodate both casual and serious collectors – from pricey rare editions to fun freebies.

Vancouver’s Vinyl Record Donation & Recycling Program will also be in attendance with an assortment of vinyl records priced to sell.

The donation and recycling program has raised over $8000 dollars for local music-related youth-oriented non-profits in Vancouver since 2013. Its beneficiaries include Girls Rock Camp Vancouver, the Safe Amplification Site Society and CiTR Radio 101.9FM.

Beyond vinyl records, the “Vinyl, Art and Leisure” pop-up shop has a range of other record-related products available for sale such as vinyl record cleaner and storage.

The Vinyl Record Storage Company of British Columbia sponsors the event and has their catalogue of products available to party goers at discount prices. Special sales include demonstration models of their popular storage solutions for up to $120 off retail price. (
