Nimbus Recording Competition Finals: 4 bands battle it out for a record deal, a single produced by Shawn Cole (Wanting Qu, Half Moon Run, Bend Sinister, Said The Whale, etc.), and a cash prize!

Nimbus School of Recording Arts and Business Class Records proudly present the 2015 Nimbus Recording Competition Finals!

The 5th annual competition features exciting up and coming acts on a quest to record with Nimbus’ Shawn Cole (Said the Whale, Kyprios, Bend Sinister, Yukon Blonde etc. Shawn will record and produce a single for the event winner, to be released and distributed by Business Class Records (BCR) at the winner’s option.

The winner will also receive a $500 cash prize, an Artist Development Plan and on going consultation from BCR. A second place prize - The Union Tube & Transistor Beezlebuzz pedal and third place - a $100 Long & McQuade Musical Instruments Gift Certificate will also be awarded. Past winners chronologically are: Randy Ponzio, We Hunt Buffalo, Cobra Ramone and Raquel Cole.

This year’s showdown will be held at The Roxy, 932 Granville St. on Thursday, April 16th with the winner to be announced following the performances. After weeks of deliberation amongst students and staff at Nimbus School of Recording Arts, the 4 finalists are listed alphabetically below. Each band will give a 30-minute performance to showcase their best in what will amount to be an exciting evening of incredible talent.
