Event Archive - Brooke Parrott , Myk Gordon, Andrew Marcus

Tue. May 17th 2011 Railway Club (No Minors)
$7 at the door only.
Tuesday, May 17th:
Brooke Parrott + Myk Gordon + Andrew Marcus

Myk Gordon:
Canada's "King Of Americana," Myk Gordon's recent album Set Free was produced by Grammy award-winner Steve Berlin (Los Lobos) and features members of Neko Case, Jakob Dylan and New Pornographers. The album is winning rave reviews for being "nothing short of a country-soul tour de force," and "a poster child for the Americana genre."

Brooke Parrott:
"In a town cluttered with singer-songwriters culling from the dense history of folk, blues, and pop, it takes something extra special to get your voice heard above the din. One of the few artists able to reach those heights is [Portlander] Brooke Parrott. This wayward spirit has been stirring up quite a storm throughout the U.S. and U.K. with her poignant storytelling and the rambling lilt of her rich, evocative singing voice." - Robert Ham, The Vinyl District

Andrew Marcus:
"Andrew Marcus' new album "emptiness speaks volumes" is honest and unapologetic. Each song has an intelligence and a complexity, inviting his audience to contemplate their meanings long after the song is over without being melodramatic." - Trisha Gieni

Doors: 8:00 pm. $7

Also, Rail Ale Tuesday: every Tuesday at 5 PM we offer a different cask of craft beer. Check our website or Twitter feed for updates on what the cask will be each week and come down for the cask tapping!
