In his lifetime, Johann Sebastian Bach was respected as an organist and teacher, but his reputation as a composer was not established until Mendelssohn’s celebrated revival of the St. Matthew Passion in the early nineteenth century.

Now, more than 250 years after his death, his works are studied and performed by every serious musician, and he is revered as the supreme master of the Baroque era.

Our voyage through Bach’s output includes a survey of the great church cantatas, the Brandenburg Concerti, and the major sacred works: the St. John Passion, the St. Matthew Passion, and the Mass in B Minor.

Nicolas Krusek is a professional musician, conductor, and speaker.
