Event Archive - Open Mike!:

Thu. February 19th 2004 Donato's Cafe and Bistro (All Ages)
7 - 10:30
Presented by: Shaun Lester
Summary of events:

Lot's of new faces.
Dave Waylie open the night with a few tunes from his native country
Australia. Some originals and cover Dave has a very unique and soothing
sound. I hope to see Dave again soon. Cheers mate!

Our very special Delaney Rose played some tunes that she will be doing on
Wednesday night at Mickey's. (The new hot spot at the Dufferin.) She invited
me to play along to a couple of her songs and never ceases to amaze me with
her talent.

Ronnie Jones back with a brand new key played originals and some blazing
Jimi Hendrix songs. Very fitting as Donato's Bistro is situated right over
the house were Jimi used to live with his grandmother. Ronnie is really the
musicians musician (as I've said before) and is an act that should not be

April Anna, a friend of Delaney Rose and also the co-coordinator for the
Green Wood Festival, sang three songs for us. One first nation, one Irish
and one Original song. April has an amazing octave range and I was quite
surprised to hear the different keys she is able to sing in. Almost like 3
different people singing 3 different songs. Out standing.

This fellow Jeremy introduced him self to me. Telling me that he hadn't
played in years and was feeling a little apprehensive about playing. But how
is one to know that Jeremy is just a very modest guy and blew us away with a
lovely set of tunes from Neil Young to some original instrumentals. Way to
go Jeremy.

Don, guitarist from Delaney Rose's band played a lovely set of covers and
closed the night for us. Here is a guy who is so at ease with his voice and
guitar that he makes it look so easy. Very very nice Don.
