Colin James is a guitarist’s guitarist. The Regina-born ax-wielder has opened for greats such as Stevie Ray Vaughan and played with Keith Richards. Of course, he also has his own solo career, a career that has been as adventurous as it has been successful. With Colin James and The Little Big Band 3, his latest and 10th album, he returns to the jump blues and hard R ‘n’ B the Vancouver-based Colin has explored on 1993 and 1998 albums. A cover of Solomon Burke’s emotive “If You Need Me”, the record’s first single, is already shooting up Canadian radio charts.

Throughout his nearly two-decade career, Colin has been nominated for and won numerous awards, including six Junos. The first Canadian artist signed to the then-fledgling Virgin label, he has sold over a million records worldwide while playing rock, blues and even roots music (see 2005’s Limelight). Colin James and The Little Big Band is sure to be seen as one of his most accomplished musical achievements yet, a disc that will delight long-time fans and win new ones with the evocative musical power on display. And, of course, Colin has built up a huge fan base for his live shows, through his exemplary showmanship and the hundreds of concerts he has played over the years and across the country.

On Colin James and The Little Big Band 3 the jump blues and hard r' n' b chestnuts that populate the majority of... more info

Michael Kaeshammer

Michael Kaeshammer is a charismatic piano superstar and performer who is looking more and more like his generation’s Harry Connick Jr. His 2003 CD Strut saw him absorbing funk-inspired bebop, romantic ballads and modern jazz into his sound of traditional piano stylings, at the same time as he emerged as a soulful and convincing vocalist. His 2007... more info
