Contact DetailsR. Geoffery Milne
At a very young age Geoffrey Milne's Aunt Eleanor, awarded the Order of Canada for her work as Canada's Dominion Sculptor, decided he had the gift of an artist and got him into art classes at the Musé Des Beaux's Art in Montreal. He enjoyed his time with paints and clay but just before his ninth birthday his father built a darkroom in the basement and he was hooked, painting and clay modeling went out the window.
Geoffrey's first camera was a small 126, cartridge loaded, point and shoot, Ziess Ikon Ikomatic F with a frontar lens. Being the son and grandson of naval architects, also having two architects in his family, his Aunt Barbara and Uncle Martin, the marriage of art and technology seemed natural. He has worked as a commercial photographer since the late 70's earning his income from photography, nothing else. He started the photography program at Surrey College and ran it for two and a half years. Though he is no longer with Surrey College he continues to teach in White Rock, Vancouver and New Westminster.
