All of the songs on this cd are very solid but my personal favorites have to be Battle Ride and the second full song (who's name I can't currently recall). Tons of old school feeling thrash riffs abound and I think every single song has at least one strong hook.

I have to mention that vocally Grant's harsh vocals sound like the singer from the Duskfall and Andrew's screams sound like Andreas Sydow, the former singer from Darkane.

Review from Metal to Infinity

Cool;
a mysterious and threatening intro to start this CD with. Looking at the front cover I'm expecting some harsh Thrash Metal. Although it's obvious from the beginning that the production isn't that great I have a good feeling with this one. Why? Probably because the beginning riffs sounds great!.. .. .. ..

'Left To Rot' is the first song and I can already conclude that this banduses different voices; a very dark kind of grunt, sometimes harsh and a good clear voice. Archon Legion tries to mix Black Metal with Death Metal and standard Thrash Metal. Maybe a strange combination but it
works for me. Why? Legion delivers great riffs and good arrangements, varied all the way. 'Ancestral Vengeance' is another example of the band trying to mix different styles. As a matter of fact this sounds like a good US Power Metal song, once again mixed with extreme vocals. Yes, it works but I'm afraid the band will deliver me an overdose of it... .. ..

I'm listening further to this CD, attracting me because the darkness it breathes, because of the fact I hear some great Metal with outstanding solos. No, these are not the best shredders on earth but damn, I adore the way these guys pull their strings; it sounds so god dam Metal! 'Battle Ride' is a more traditional Heavy Metal song, yes reminding me to good old Omen. Maybe I miss some high screams... 'March Of The Inquisitors' is another great song and don't I hear some hardcore influences here? Yes, I do but I also hear great clean vocals and some pure evil aggression! This is a mighty track! Also the choruses of 'Slaughter Is The Best Medicine' are well tasted by me..... .. .. ..

To be honest I like the way Archon Legion uses the different styles of vocals but as I expected it is a bit too much for me. Musical wise the red line in this story is traditional Heavy Metal with riffs we already heard in the early eighties. I don't mind, I'm a child of that time and
I like new bands that travel through time to search the roots of our style! Nevertheless Archon Legion adds modern elements to, I suppose, reach a bigger crowd. I don't know if world domination is their goal but with some good support this might be a band that will steal many souls! A better production is wanted, some high pitched screams are
necessary! Check http://www.myspace.com/archonlegion My Points: 84/100 (Review by Officer Nice) - Wed, 25 Mar 2009 4:27pm Edited: Wed, 25 Mar 2009 4:27pm
