Though the band's history is spotty to say the least, with brief and sporadic periods of activity followed by breakups and non-activity (in true punk fashion), the group's legacy has lived on through the years. The Adolescents' staying power is due to their blazing energy and classic songs like "Kids of the Black Hole, "Who is Who" and "Self Destruct," as well as their legendary self-titled debut. Artists like the Red Hot Chili Peppers have helped keep The Adolescents' name alive by citing the band as a seminal influence. Now, with the release of Naughty Women in Black Sweaters-the Complete Demos '80-86, and a record of new material titled OC Confidential, The Adolescents are back on tour, as raging and snotty as ever, ready to claim their rightful place in the hierarchy of Southern California punk rock.
