Hills of Elysium
Hailing from the northwestern corner of the continental US, female-fronted rock outfit, Hills of Elysium shine through the grey mist and residual mourning of grunge that blankets and muffles much of the modern music scene in Seattle. Affectionately dubbed “HoE” by fans and locals, Hills of Elysium have been shock-rocking their way up the ranks for the last few years, and they’re only getting started.
Hills of Elysium have been consistently lumped into countless genres including punk, goth, hard rock, metal, and shock rock. As HoE draws on influences from an array of bands, it is no surprise that listeners vary so drastically in their attempts at classifying the band’s sound. Influenced by such groups as Jack off Jill, Marilyn Manson, Animal Alpha, and numerous Punk and Riot GRRL era bands, Hills of Elysium successfully meld elements from each of the aforementioned genres, resulting in something fresh, innovative, and insightful.
