DOUBLE RAINBOW is an instrumental or vocal ensemble that can readily be expanded with more pieces to complement your event. Our kit is very compact and we easily work in any size space. We offer both acoustic and amplified music performed in the style and at the volume that you prefer. We play music from the late 1800’s up to today including swing and jazz, popular, classical, and religious repertoire. If you like, we are happy to entertain your ideas and requests to tailor-make the musical soundscape at your event.

Sue Baines, an experienced and enjoyable singer, pianist, accordionist and chromatic harmonica player, has entertained from Calgary to Toronto, New York, and finally Vancouver where she has been working as a performer and a music therapist since 1994. Sue has played at numerous venues as well as taught workshops and seminars across Canada, the United States and in South Africa. Sue teaches piano in the Bachelor of Music therapy Program at Capilano College in North Vancouver.

Steve Cottrill, is a well-seasoned performer with highly developed instrumental skills and style. A similarly accomplished singer, Steve started playing swing with the Zaniacs in 1986 and previously, was a member of the Klezmer band, Odessa. Steve can be seen making music with Debbie Reynolds in the film, Connie and Carla. A multi-instrumentalist including stellar skills on the six-string banjo as well as specializing in a warm finger style on the seven-string guitar, Steve completes the duo, DOUBLE RAINBOW.
