Saturday, June 3rd IMU & CiTR 101.9FM present Hey Ocean!, Madison's Panic, Ross Vegas & Karmetik Underground @ The RAILWAY CLUB, 579 Dunsmuir Street . 8pm

HEY OCEAN! - Funky guitar grooves, eargasmic vocals and upbeat jazzy licks keep Hey Ocean! listeners comfortably sitting, standing, or dancing while they are washed out to sea and carefully brought back to shore. A Vancouver band, their humble beginnings swapping songs on the beaches of Costa Rica are undeniably where the spirit of their music resides. Passionate voices, tight harmonies, clever lyrics and frivolous fun keep this music honest and pure: from the heart, for the soul. Be sure to come out and revel in the band's newest sonic offerings from their recent debut CD release, "Stop Looking Like Music", which showcases the band's whimsically poetic lyrics, finely crafted pop and funky freeform jams! http://www.heyocean.com

MADISON'S PANIC - And then suddenly out of nowhere comes a sound never heard before - resonating with a melody, complexity, and aura so brilliant that the heart cannot help but blame the mind. The mind just smiles and nods... armed with an array of strings, Madison's Panic combine acoustic rock with intense emotion and raw musical energy. Their versatile sound is an intense, unique mixture of punk, ballad and classical composition, creating fresh new classics at every turn. http://www.madisonspanic.com

ROSS VEGAS - Blending melody, groove and mood, Ross Vegas meshes resonant vocals, pulsing rhythms and sonic ambience. A funk/soul/reggae machine, Ross Vegas always puts on a memorable show with their cool, groovy sound-mixture of memorable melodies and soulful vocals. Their most recent release "Flow" was recorded at Vogville Studios with renowned producer/engineer Jonathan Fluevog at the helm. The result is a collection of well-crafted songs that are cooly grooving and laced with a gritty edge. http://www.rossvegasmusic.com

KARMETIK UNDERGROUND - Sonically combining the east, the west, the above and the below, the Karmetik Underground cleverly creates an ethnically diverse musical tapestry, often incorporating traditional Indian instruments such as sitars, tablas and santoors with state of the art synthesizers, samplers, and sequencers. Their electroganic tribal dance grooves are influenced by Talvin Singh, Phish, The Chemical Brothers and Sound Tribe Sector Nine to name a few, and all KU's members studied under masters in India, bringing their eastern influence infusion to organic dance music. http://www.myspace.com/karmetikunderground
