As recent winners of CiTR’s Shindig competition, Vancougar don’t have anything to prove. Having only played select shows since winning Shindig, you simply must check out these gals as they headline this tight Lamplighter bill. Simple, gritty, Van-Femme synth-fused punk rock has never been done this well.

PRIMES are one of the West Coast’s premier, electro-industrial groups. With a full-length soon out on Action-Driver Records and a split with like-minded locals, Bakelite, out on the premier Canadian indie label Global Symphonic, PRIMES are set to deliver the Vancouver scene some much needed industrial flair.

The show will start promptly at 10:00pm with two trios of dance-fuelled sass. Channels 3&4 have been in hibernation for the winter; only playing one show in the past few months. Channels seamlessly transform uneasy, screeching, robot sounds and rhythmic pots and pans clatter into unbelievably feet shaking punk songs.

The other three-piece, appropriately named Hot Loins delivers a carnivalesque take on hardcore new-wave. Featuring the guitarist of Raking Bombs on drums, the gents in Hot Loins blend the eerie flavour of post-goth bands such as Birthday Party and Antioch Arrow with the attitude, song writing, and almost playfully poppy nature of artists like of Wire, Gang of Four and Devo.

Band members Tanya Pea and Jack Duckworth (JJD) make music with an uncanny future industrio techno-punk worldview. Jagged-edged music that would sound at home in sets by Optimo, Justice or other such eclectic music DJ's. This band, keen on cutting-edge t... more info
