Event Description

Come join us for a power poppin' punk rockin' night at your new favourite haunt! Pill Squad opens the night at around 9:15 followed by two sets by China Syndrome. Hope to see you!

CHINA SYNDROME
China Syndrome is a rockin' melodic power pop band who combine the driving pop hooks of Teenage Fanclub and XTC with liberal dollops of 60s and 70s classic rock influences. The Georgia Straight praised their 2015 album The Usual Angst as “infectiously jangly” with “fantastic, hooky guitar;” The Province named it “CD of the Week,” while The Vancouver Sun called it “Album of the Week,” stating “The Usual Angst is an infectious batch of rock."

PILL SQUAD
Pill Squad consists of Vancouver & Victoria music scene veterans from bands such as the Hip Type, 64 Funnycars, Ogre, Liquor Kings and Full Leather Jacket. Their music can be described as garage rock with strong vintage punk, glam, power-pop and 70s AM radio rock tendencies. Touchstones include the Cramps, the Sonics, Edward Bear, the Damned and Elton John. They put out a self-titled EP in 2015, praised by Discorder Magazine as having "wit, style, and great pop-punk sensibilities."
A live album will be released in 2016.
