On Echo Nebraska’s debut EP, Send The Ships, the Vancouver-based band creates a rustic acoustic sound that might’ve been birthed had REM and Father John Misty spent a night together in a forest. Ranging from the gentle new country of “Nice Philosophy” to the riffier rock of “Out of Time” and lilting harmony-heavy first single, “Hey Allison,” the record is cohesive while still being diverse.

Western Jaguar is the creation of multi-instrumentalist Jeffrey Trainor. Based in Mission, British Columbia, Western Jaguar has attracted a strong collection of followers, both locally and abroad through their, “strong and anthemic compositions.”

Affection, belonging, loss and nostalgia: four themes that encompass the lyrically driven music of The Written Years. These subjects are constantly questioned throughout the band’s songs, delivered passionately and honestly through Wade Ouellet’s melancholic acid-tinged vocals, Kane Enders’ unexpectedly triumphant drum lines and Kodie Krogh’s melodic and memorable guitar hooks.
