Soilwork (http://www.soilwork.org)
Swedish melodic death metalers Soilwork are returning as a headliner. Their sound is a fusion of the classic Gothenburg metal sound with power-groove riffs. However, in their most recent albums, Soilwork has also introduced elements from other genres such as blues rock and alternative metal, and adopted a more melodic sound. Their most recent work has more singing and lighter melodies than their earlier work, as well as a more polished production.

Jeff Loomis (http://www.jeffloomis.com)
Jeff is widely known as the former lead guitarist from Nevermore. Honorably, Jeff is noted as a player of many influences and styles, and is debatably seen as one of the world’s most talented and gifted metal guitarists. It has been said that Jeff takes classic techniques he learned from listening to legends like Jason Becker and Yngwie Malmsteen as a teen and applying his own ingenuity, Loomis has carved his own niche and created an instantly recognizable style.

Blackguard (http://www.facebook.com/blackguardband)
Canada’s very own Blackguard returns! Blackguard’s sound is unique and incorporates many subgenres of metal such as folk, epic, and melodic death; their most recent album “Firefight” clearly displays Blackguard’s “epic metal” sound. It has been argued that this Canadian ensemble clearly displays the immense skill it takes to assert flawless execution in their live shows. If you haven’t ever seen Blackguard live, they’ll blow you away with their immense stage presence.

Soilwork is a Swedish melodic death metal band from Helsingborg. They are currently signed to Nuclear Blast. Formed in late 1995 by Björn Strid and Peter Wichers, originally under the name Inferior Breed, the band changed their name in late 1996 to Soilwork (meaning "working from the ground up"). Their sound is a fusion of the classic Gothenburg ... more info

JEFF LOOMIS’ complex shredding has been a central part of the progressive but powerful and thrashy edge often attributed to Nevermore’s trademark sound since the band’s formation in 1992. As the band’s lone permanent guitarist, he’s been responsible for some of the most awe-inspiring riffs modern metal has ever heard. Taking the classic t... more info

Blackguard (Melodic Death Metal)

If ever there was a test case proving that hard work, tenacity, a healthy amount suffering, and word of mouth pays off, Blackguard is it. Formed in 2001 by guitarist Terry Roadcase and drummer Justine "Juice" Éthier as a straight ahead black metal outfit, the Montreal-based sextet - who clawed their way into the public eye under the name Profugus ... more info

Bonded by Blood (Thrash Metal)

Southern California has become a hotbed of talented thrash metal acts in recent years, however only one band has the chops to stand out above all others. Only one band has successfully taken the risks necessary to rise above the rest. From Pomona, CA, that band is BONDED BY BLOOD. In the summer of 2005, a then-17 year old vocalist by the name of... more info

Hatchet (Thrash Metal)

Growing up in the San Francisco area suburbs as young metal heads can make it quite likely to take influence from the pioneers of metal that spanned the area in the 1980’s. So it’s no surprise that Hatchet describes their sound as “Pure, Uncompromising, Bay Area Thrash Metal”. Since hitting the Bay Area Metal scene in early 2007, Hatchet... more info
