Perryscope Concerts and The Vogue Theatre are excited to announce Calexico with special guests The Dodos, Saturday October 20 at The Rickshaw Theatre. Calexico, a Tucson collective of musicians focused around Joey Burns and John Convertino, forged an eclectic identity through their exploration of Southwestern culture, Portuguese fado, Afro-Peruvian music, and '50s and '60s jazz, country, and surf music. Their studio releases have spanned decades and they will be back to Vancouver again in support of their sixth album, Algiers.
Calexico achieve critical success for their swampy mix of neo-mariachi tunes, indie-rock riffs, jazz swagger, Mexicali blues, and electronic funk.
