Event Description

Elevator Music and Promotions presents a great night of local rock and roll at Joe’s Apartment on Saturday October 8th, 2011.

We’re tackling this one in a little different way, as the theme of this show will not be “Break a leg” but rather “Don’t Break your foot”. The first band of the night, The Chris King Maneuver will take the stage at 8:15 and it will be Chris’ first show at Joe’s since he fell off the stage in February of 2011, breaking his foot.

All joking aside, the Chris King Maneuver is a good local rock act that brings a ton of energy and great songs to the stage.

Their album Rock Harder Than Your Enemies was released in 2010. A collection of songs written over a span of 5 years, the album ranges from light-hearted love songs to angry punk songs about cannibalism to introspective songs about life and death.

The Coalition

Part of the Arc Of The Universe music label, Coalition is short for The Melodic Coalition for Unity & Harmony through Sound & Music. The band was formed in November, 2007.

They are an original three piece rock band from North Vancouver, BC. The band incorporates a wide variety of influences that begin with the blues and moves through jazz and progressive rock.

Tom Harrison of The Province noted the band “breaks rules because it doesn't know of any rules. So, it jams, experiments and generally is reckless....this creates unpredictability in that it's hard to guess where the trio will go next.”

Mud Jack

MudJack are a four piece “alternative blues” band originally formed in the UK. They create a savage, untamed sound, with a blues essence.
The first EP, ‘Follow Me’, received airplay around the UK and resulted in radio sessions on BBC Radio Wales and Nation Radio, as well as impressive magazine reviews. Their second, ‘Still No Place To Go’, again received great feedback around the UK, but also around stations throughout Europe, the West coast of America and Canada.
