BIG JOHN BATES - The Big John Bates Grindshow and its punk/southern gothic sound is rolling across North America featuring two lead singers, Big John Bates (guitar) & Brandy Bones (bass), drummer Orian Case and the dangerously sexy Calamity Kate & Lincoln Electra. Like being serenaded with a rusty hammer, they put the rustic blues in a butter churn with tough electric guitars on a raucous carnival ride full of non-stop voodoo action.

The MATINÉE is emerging as one of the West Coast's premier independent bands. Blending a passion for fine ale and finely crafted tunes, they offer a unique spin on a roots rock sound that is quickly attracting both national and international audiences. Writing songs that paint pictures of empty bottles and broken hearts, broken bottles and empty hearts, their collection of songs vividly comes to life. As they continue with their hard-nosed, DIY, blue collar work ethic, there is little doubt that this show is worth the price of admission.

The GASTOWN ROYALS - Some of Vancouver's hardest working & partying Bourbon Pub staff deliver straight up contagious alt-country with sweet ass vocals, mouth harp, banjo, ukulele, guitars and percussion. Some of the band's many interests and influences include whittling, spittoons, rocking chairs, straw hats, horse drawn carriages, Clint Eastwood, scrappin'n'cussin, cornbread, neckin' (with their best gals of course), barroom brawling, homemade jam, bathtub gin and everything olde timey!

Their “rustic tapestry of bowed bass, guitars and thumping percussion” now embraces the addition of Requiemily’s post-ro... more info

Shoot out the lights, and stone the roses—there’s some strong autobiography going on between the lines of The Matinée’s debut full-length album, We Swore We’d See the Sunrise. Taking its title from a line in “L’Absinthe”— the true story of a night of madness and delirium experienced while on tour in Quebec told between bouts of spa... more info
