Presented by: Rail Entertainment
China Syndrome is a rockin' melodic power pop band from Vancouver, combining the driving pop hooks of The New Pornographers and Guided By Voices, with liberal dollops of old favourites such as XTC and the Replacements. Their self-titled 2007 album has been lauded as "one CD that should be on everyone's 'must have' list" (International Pop Overthrow) and "a grower" (Tom Harrison, The Province). They've recently completed their second album which will be released in January 2011. The upcoming album, like their first, was recorded and produced at Vancouver's JC/DC Studio by David Carswell (The New Pornographers, Tegan & Sara, Destroyer, Evaporators, among others).

Wilderness Years:
Featuring members of Rodney DeCroo, Destroyer and Carolyn Mark's band as well as ex-members of the Papillomas and Magic Ass, Wilderness Years have just released a great debut album, Pioneers. Their sound can be described as quirky, intelligent rock with a dash of Pavement, Superchunk and Todd Rundgren.
