A PALE BLUE - A Pale Blue was born in Alberta, and it shows. Though the band now hails from Vancouver, their music resonates the imagery of the prairies: the giant skies, the hard rolling earth, and the well-worn lives of those who live between. There is little nostalgic iconography at work in A Pale Blue, the conventional images of life on the plains: golden grain, noble farmers, simple living, are instead replaced with depictions of burnouts, streetwalkers, and the generally doomed. However, one cannot dismiss the music as depressive, for as it is in the unforgiving landscape that the music echoes, there is always the faint inclination of hope and persistence; these may be broken characters, but they are not defeated ones. Members include songwriter Brock Allen, Shira Blustein (Blood Meridian, Hard Drugs) Andy Bond and Galen Rigter (Honeysuckle Serontina) Johnny Reddit (Warbaby) and Bryce Janssens (Lord Beginner, Weathered Pines). A true and honest pearl of a group. http://www.myspace.com/apaleblue

COWBOYS AND INDIANS - Join one of Vancouver's newest folk rock country blues bands formed by Barnaby McRae, Daniel Huscroft & Ryan McAllister (former lead singer of the band Dakona) as they showcase tightly crafted Americana-roots style tunes for your drinkin' pleasure. Expect a full serving of timeless tales delivered with deeply emotive vocals soaked in Tennessee Whiskey and combined skillfully with steel & acoustic guitars and flourishes of harmonica that will transport you to a simpler time in the dusty past, a time of Cowboys and Indians. http://www.myspace.com/thecowboysandindiansband

DANIEL HUSCROFT is a natural talent whose musical journey began at an early age with classical violin and piano, but it wasn't until age thirteen that he met his true love when he picked up an electric guitar and began ripping Vivaldi violin concertos through a distortion pedal. As an integral member of the Sarah Kelly Band, he garnered multiple awards and Grammy nominations as well as playing and recording with G'n'R producer Mike Clink and guitarist Slash. His own band Strada touring with acclaimed bands including Tea Party, Switchfoot and Stabilo prior to their dissolution in 2006, after which he formed Cowboys And Indians with collaborators Ryan McAllister and Barnaby McRae. Currently recording his debut solo acoustic album, his journey continues. http://www.myspace.com/danielhuscroft

The MILK PIPES always drop the hammer on their original tunes with a joyful and reckless abandon. Three years, over 50 shows on, and with a new album almost in the can, The Pipes are having the kind of good time that can only come from within. They are a band of brothers who always share their beer... until it's the last one, then it's war. You'll hear them coming so stomp your feet or get the hell out of the way. http://www.myspace.com/TheMilkPipes

A Pale Blue (Grunge/Country/Rock)

Never satisfied, and always looking ahead, A Pale Blue continues to tinker with their grungy, bummer, country rock sound. The band is taking more chances with their live show, which now ranges from a thoughtful shuffle to pounding guitar anthems. Harmonies are treated with thought and the 'no fun' lyrics of singer songwriter Brock Allen paint a d... more info
