Lions In The Street are releasing their new EP "The Mixtape", recorded at Mushroom Studios with sonic-wizard Shawn Cole (You Say Party We Say Die, Bend Sinister). Taking pre-punk rock and roll as their starting point, this is the kind of weary-yet-hopeful music that only a band that has endured real hardships could make.

LIONS IN THE STREET create rock'n'roll that is fierce and genuine, invoking vintage Stones swagger and raunchy boogie rock 'n' roll with lean attack and ass-kicking rhythmic sense. Formerly known as The Years, the Lions have shared stages with the likes of Jet, Kings of Leon, Ambulance Ltd, The Dirtbombs and The Zutons and "explode with a Stones/Small Faces onslaught that drips with jubilant passion, as well as very loud guitars played with giddy abandon" (Guitar Player Magazine). Michael Corcoran of the Austin American-Statesman extols the Lions as being "the first great band I saw this year at SXSW!" http://www.myspace.com/lionsinthestreet

LAND - Inspired by the possibilities born out of jam-based rock music, this 2 man blues-driven band focuses on tightly crafted music that's strongly rooted in spontaneity. Thrust forward on a wave of fuzz-laden grooves and reverb echoes, the vocals reveal stories of love, darkness, and hope, setting the tone for the band's inspired musical soundscape. Embracing a curiosity into the deeper origins of rock music, their sound and live energy has been compared to visionary bands like Cream and the Grateful Dead as well as retro revivalists like the White Stripes and Black Keys. http://www.myspace.com/land1977

MINTO CHIPMAN is a five piece psyche folk rock band. They started out as a country tinged band called The Smokes, but as members and influences came and went, they slowly became the band they are today. Someone once describe their shows as "A revival that you can get drunk at", Minto Chipman firmly believes in the religious beauty that is the live show. http://www.myspace.com/mintochipman

The SPEAKING TONGUES - Equal parts Detroit Garage and Mississippi Boogie, The Speaking Tonues inject punk energy into raw blues with one man playing guitar to save his life & one man beating the drums to death. Every show is a full volume, hell-bound express train of garage and blues rock best experienced with ear plugs and loose morals! http://www.myspace.com/thespeakingtongues
