. Saturday, Feb 28th IMU presents LOS FURIOS, WAR OF THE MINDS, VENICE QUEEN & The HARVEST @ The Railway Club, 579 Dunsmuir

LOS FURIOS deliver an irresistible blend of ska, reggae, and catchy punk with solid, memorable vocals and empowering, danceable anthems that range from head bobbin' slow skanks to all out, full throttle, pedal-to-the-metal ska romps. Featuring a three piece horn section complemented by distinct songwriters and vocalists, Los Furios shine the brightest when seen and heard live. The six piece band rocks, jumps, bumps and dances through set after set creating a party atmosphere that has made them a favorite with audiences. With 11 Canadian tours under their belt and dates on several Vans Warped Tour, Los Furios have shared stages with The Real McKenzies, Fishbone, Bedouin Soundclash, DOA, The Smugglers, The Planet Smashers and many others. http://www.myspace.com/losfurios

WAR OF THE MINDS can do things most mortals can only dream of -- playing instruments with three hands at once, singing with forked melodies, winning music competitions held on other planets, and transfusing their potent musical elixir into your bloodstream with a thrilling combination of intense guitars, commanding vocals, inventive bass and rollercoaster drums. Their riff-heavy music is dynamic and contagious with a darkly grooving edge, bridging epic guitar rock with female-fronted psychedelia into an explosive new sound. Check out their powerful new single "Warning Call" @ myspace.com/waroftheminds http://www.waroftheminds.com/

VENICE QUEEN are a 4-piece rock band from Richmond whose inspiration is derived from countless different groups and styles, with each song naturally sounding different from the rest. While inspired by bands like Alice in Chains, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Stone Temple Pilots, Deftones and Queens of the Stone Age, they refuse to pinpoint themselves to a specific genre other than to what sounds pleasing to their ears and hopefully to others! http://www.myspace.com/venicequeenband

The HARVEST - Spawned in Victoria, The Harvest quickly relocated to Vancouver after realizing that sandalwood and politics weren't in the cards for them. Their sound is a mix of punk ethics, D.I.Y. personality and genuine passion for great music in a variety of styles from hard rock to blues and ska. While maintaining a steady regiment of songwriting, recording, shows and rehearsals, they've now opened a new home base in their own Aurora Studios where they're currently finishing work on their forthcoming second CD. http://www.myspace.com/myharvest
