In 2007 rocker TOM COCHRANE, born in Lynn Lake, Manitoba to Violet and Tuck Cochrane (a bush pilot), was inducted into the Order of Canada, the highest honour bestowed on a civilian in Canada, for "songs that recount stories and dreams that are unabashedly Canadian," and for his humanitarian efforts in fighting global poverty.

TOM COCHRANE fist caught our attention with Red Rider (1980 -84) with singles like “White Hot,” “Don‘t Fight It,” and “Lunatic Fringe;” Then as TOM COCHRANE & RED RIDER (1986 - 89) with even bigger classics like ’Boy Inside The Man” and the hockey heartbreaker “The Big League.” Upon going solo in 1990 he had his biggest international hit “Life is a Highway” and still has a considerable following in Australia and the US. At the 2003 Juno Awards he was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame and could indeed be called the ‘Wayne Gretzky of Canadian Rock.’

DANIEL WESLEY is a guy, a sound, a state of mind, a limb-loosening groove. DANIEL WESLEY is a band. Formed just a couple of years ago, this is a trio that has risen on the shoulders of their fans, a band that has been voted #1 by popular demand, a band that sells out every show they play. In 2007 their lilting, tilting single ‘Oo Ohh’ hit the top of the Vancouver radio charts, and it’s the song that kids will remember 20 years from now when they think back to “the good old days.” It became the ‘most requested song of 2007’ in Vancouver and is included on DANIEL WESLEY’s second independent album Sing + Dance which is packed with infectious, catchy and surprisingly thoughtful songs.

Daniel Wesley

In the winter of 2008, for two night’s running, Daniel Wesley mounted the stage before a sold out crowd at Vancouver’s 1000 capacity Commodore Ballroom. The venerable concert hall has seen its share of local artists, but Wesley’s extraordinary two-night stand was something different; a grass roots event without precedent, based on the cycloni... more info
