The MATINEE is emerging as one of Vancouver's finest songwriting teams. Blending a passion for fine ale and finely-crafted tunes, Matt Rose and Matt Layzell have combined to offer a unique sound that is quickly attracting both national and international audiences. Matt Layzell has spent over seven years playing countless shows across the country as lead singer of the successful Vancouver rock group Ten Ways From Sunday. Matt Rose has been playing guitar and writing songs for over a decade in noted Vancouver rock/country band Fera, The Matlocks, Jeff Johnson, TwinCity and Day Release Program. Together, the two Matts write songs that paint pictures of empty bottles and broken hearts, broken bottles and empty hearts... and maybe the odd unpaid speeding ticket. With their first full-length album out now, it's show-time for The MATINEE!

The SUMNER BROTHERS have garnered an incredible amount of attention in the short amount of time they have been a duo. Mixing originals and covers into a laid-back country-Delta-blues-roots blender, they float between traditional country, blues and folk, with a dash of bluegrass thrown in, making for a very tasty musical recipe. Described as "Old Crow Medicine Show meets the White Stripes", their rockin, foot stompin, rustic-roots sound has been favourably compared to Stompin Tom and Johnny Cash. Come out and see why Samantha Parton of The Be Good Tanyas calls The Sumner Brothers her "new favorite band".

LAND (formerly THE FILIGREES) - This 2 man blues-driven rock and roll band focuses on tightly-crafted feel good music, strongly rooted in the spontaneity of the jam. Influenced by Neil Young, Kings of Leon and the Rolling Stones, the band's blues-rock sound has been favourably compared to the White Stripes and the Black Keys, and promises to blow the roof off with their original blend of rockin' bluegrass heart and soul. Their debut 10 song full length CD was recently recorded at Mushroom Studios and will be available soon.

Taking its title from a line in “L’Absinthe”— the true story of a night of madness and delirium experienced while on tour in Quebec told between bouts of spa... more info

LAND - Inspired by the possibilities born out of jam-based rock music, this 2 man blues-driven band focuses on tightly crafted music that's strongly rooted in spontaneity. Thrust forward on a wave of fuzz-laden grooves and reverb echoes, the vocals reveal stories of love, darkness, and hope, setting the tone for the band's inspired musical soundsca... more info
