Juggernaut 1: Superbeing, Ten Ways From Sunday, Ten Dollar Thompson

Thu. May 13th 2004 9pm - 1am Richard's On Richards (No Minors) 9pm - 1am
Presented by: Medusa, JMP,
Vancouver's live music scene is about to get a kick in the, er... pants when the Juggernaut Concert Series rolls out next month. The trio of explosive rock concerts, presented by JMP and Medusa Entertainment, begin Thursday, May 13 at Richard's On Richards and continue on June 10 and August 12.

The first night features performances by some of Vancouver's best-loved rock bands including performances by Superbeing - who seemingly never fail to sell out a show, the kick-ass Ten Ways From Sunday, and Langley's hot prodigy band Ten Dollar Thompsom. The series caps off on Thursday, August 12 with a performance by Todd Kerns (The Age of Electric, Static In Stereo) hot on the heels of his forthcoming independent release.

Event producers are promising this triple-threat to be unlike any other in Vancouver history.

"We plan to have a variety of activities to fill the set changes up, and keep the momentum rolling between bands," says JMP business manager Chris Fraser. "We're looking at Sumo Suit wrestling, hypnotists, and comedians as between-set fillers." Not only that, but a professional massage therapist will be on hand to relax fans who've had just about enough of the work week.

Support acts for Juggernaut were selected through Medusa Entertainment's Battle Of The Bands, held over the past few months at the Media Club. The "show-down" ended recently at a packed house. Bands vying for opening slotswere selected, and the winners chosen included Ten Dollar Thompson, Holler, and Tenant.

As mentioned above, the big show goes down on May 13th with tickets being sold by the bands in advance or at the door for $10 a piece. Don't miss out on the rock event of the year, support live music in Vancouver.
