Formed in 1988, Buffalo born/Tampa raised Cannibal Corpse helped found, manipulate and transcend the very boundaries of death metal beginning with the scandalously controversial debut, Eaten Back To Life. Raising the eyebrows of inquisitive Metalheads and incensed parents and politicians, the record - produced by Scott Burns at the now renowned Morrisound Studios - was more extreme and confrontational than anything the metal genre had ever known.

Proving technical dexterity, diabolic vocal grunts and a penchant for serial killers, zombies and gore of all shapes, sizes and textures, Cannibal Corpse won over the hearts of many a metal extremist and have since become a harrowing household name. Since the bands inception they have sold millions of albums worldwide and show no sign of slowing or bowing down to the ever-changing metal genre. Massive tours throughout the U.S. and Europe as well as Australia and South America only underscored the band's staying power…and all this with zero commercial radio presence and minimal video play (although the band did appear in the Hollywood blockbuster, Ace Ventura - Pet Detective). Older, wiser, and as malevolent as ever before, the time to Kill is now!

Detroit's the Black Dahlia Murder actually sounds like they should live in Scandinavia, whence originates much of the frenetic brand of death and black metal that inspires them. Formed in January 2001, the group followed their six-song What a Horrible Night to Have a Curse demo with the four-track A Cold-Blooded Epitaph EP, which was released on their own Lovelost Records. With a number of acclaimed concerts appearances like the Milwaukee Metal Fest already under their belts, the group — comprised of vocalist Trevor Strnad, guitarists Brian Eschbach and Jon Kemppainen, bassist David Lock, and drummer Cory Grady — then signed with Metal Blade in 2003 and were soon recording their debut album, Unhallowed.

“The unsettling touch of a gnarled chapped hand tugs at my wrist. A shiver of uneasiness surges through my body that is almost enough to mask the nauseating aroma that surrounds him. "Hey Mister. Got a cigarette?" I quickly pull my arm away as small black insect crawls from his sleeve and falls to ground. My imagination is flying. What happened h... more info

During the summer of 1999 the four members: Tommy Dahlström, Zeb Nilsson, Johan Hjelm and Arttu Malkki of the newly broken up band Defaced Creation decided to form a new death-metal band that would try to create a more pioneering and interesting style, instead of doing the usual “old-school” death-metal, (even though the roots was in the “ol... more info
