From Sloan-style retro rock to harmony laden melodies, Star Collector takes on the whole spectrum of power-pop variations. Currently one of the city's most hyped bands for their great hair amongst other things, Star Collector lay to rest the theory that Vancouver bands can't make intelligent pop-rock. The Perms concentrate on harder edged, hook ladened power pop, they will be performing at the Western Canadian Music Festival in Regina and are touring in support of their latest buzz album ‘Clark Drive'. Calgary's The Dudes are down with good old-fashioned rock & roll with an ever so loving nice touch. Hailing from Winnipeg, Mike Petkau creates arty folk-pop with quirky, agressive rock-n-roll charges - a rather nice way to begin an evening of extraordinary music.

The Perms formed in 1997 in Brandon, Manitoba, Canada when Shane Smith asked his brother Chad and his high school friend Paul Thorsteinson to form a power pop group. After three months, they recorded their debut album "Tight Perm" and then signed on with Hugtight Records. The record was released later on that year and attracted a very positive buzz. more info
