Semiahmoo Potters Club
THE SEMIAHMOO POTTERS SOCIETY MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION
Our Roots: Started in 1994 by a group of eleven local potters, the organization’s
goal was to provide studio space for experienced potters wanting to continue developing
their craft through the sharing of ideas and new techniques while working together.
That goal continues to this day as expressed in our club mission statement: to foster,
encourage and develop the ceramic art of pottery in the South Surrey and White Rock
communities. The club provides facilities, equipment and services not otherwise
available to the members and is a forum for interchanging knowledge and skills among
Our Values: *Integrity/honesty *Education/sharing *Team work & participation
*Respect *Fun *Personal safety & environmental stewardship
Each member of the Semiahmoo Potters Society participates in some of the club committees
in order that we continue to operate effectively and professionally. In addition,
workshops and monthly meetings are part of club membership. Our two annual pottery
sales--at the end of each November and in early May--provide an opportunity to show
and sell our work, and the commissions augment the membership fees to cover the
society’s rent and other operating costs.
Membership Inquiries: Over the years a lengthy waiting list has indicated strong
