Edd Wright is a Canadian-born tenor whose versatile talent has led him to performances in Opera, Musical Theatre, Drama, Film and Television. An accomplished singer and actor he has performed across Canada, in Europe, and throughout the United States.

Edd's singing career started as a boy soprano in a Children's choir that was seconded for the Vancouver Opera Association's (VOA) first production of Carmen. Edd later developed his rich baritone voice and stage presence singing and acting in many Theatre and Musical Theatre productions. First as an accomplished amateur, then as a professional, Edd honed his performance skills with companies such as The Vancouver Playhouse, The Arts Club Theatre, Theatre Under The Stars, City Stage, Sky Stage, and Stage West. For a period of 17 years he also sang in the Vancouver Opera's chorus and performed many comprimario roles. For 10 of those years he performed in and managed the VOA's touring program. Other performances in Edd's career include concerts with The Vancouver New Music Society, Western Concert Opera, The Handel Society and the Vancouver Bach Choir. Edd was also the Guest Tenor soloist for the UBC Music Department's production of "Verdi's Requiem" at the Orpheum Theatre. On The Vancouver Bach Choir's recording, "Serenade to Music"; Edd sang the tenor solos with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra.

In theatres across Canada Edd has delighted audiences with his portrayal of well known Broadway characters that include Harold Hill in "The Music Man", Tommy Albright in "Brigadoon" and Professor Henry Higgins in "My Fair Lady." He was also featured in musical revues such as "Side By Side By Sondheim" and What's A Nice Country ….".

After studying with Vancouver-based Luigi Wood, Edd traveled to Italy where he was honoured to study with and perform concerts presented by Tito Gobbi. Upon returning home, he began to develop his tenor voice and in l987, moved to New York City to study with Joan Dornemann, Walter Taussig and William Glazier.

Edd's United States performances included such roles as Radames in "Aida", Don Jose in "Carmen", Pinkerton in "Madama Butterfly", Calaf in "Turandot", Cavaradossi in "Tosca" and Bacchus in "Ariadne auf Naxos". He also performed a variety of Concert work.

In Carnegie Hall he performed Mozart's "Coronation Mass" and Handel's "Messiah".

Edd lends his talent to television specials and musical events including Dal Richard's 2002 Remembrance Day Concert at the Orpheum Theatre with conductor and composer Mart Kenny.
Other appearances have included CBC Television music specials and actor/principal parts in television and film productions.

Edd sings regularly at the Pan Pacific Hotel's Friday Night Italian Opera Buffet in the Café Pacifica performing Operatic arias, Italian love songs, and Musical Theatre numbers.

Having been based in New York City for 11 years, Edd is pleased to make Vancouver his home-base again.
